Arrival in Gorno-Altaysk and Journey into the Heart of Altai
Meeting in Gorno-Altaysk
We’ll meet you at Gorno-Altaysk airport. It’s time to get to know each other, tune into the rhythm of the journey, and begin our immersion into the spirit of Altai.
Breakfast in a Traditional Ethno-Ail
Before we hit the road, we’ll visit a traditional ethno-ail, where a welcoming local hostess will introduce us to the culture of the Altai people and treat us to regional delicacies.
Transfer to the Ust-Koksa Region
After breakfast, we begin our transfer to Ust-Koksa — a destination beloved by those who seek untouched, wild nature. This is where you'll find Belukha Mountain (4,509 m), the highest peak in Siberia, and numerous pristine alpine lakes, including the famous Multa Lakes — our main destination.
5–6 Hours on the Road
The journey takes us through scenic villages, winding mountain passes, and alpine meadows where livestock graze peacefully. The landscapes will shift along the way — from gentle hills to open, sparsely vegetated steppe, and finally to lush, forested mountains as we near Ust-Koksa.
Arrival in Ust-Koksa
By evening, we reach this quiet and cozy village nestled deep in the Altai mountains.
Accommodation and Evening Program
We’ll check into a new, comfortable hotel with twin rooms and all modern amenities, including a heated outdoor pool.
After a hot dinner, we’ll hold a welcome meeting to get acquainted, discuss the route ahead, and go over outfit ideas for the days to come.
